Facilities Coordinator

Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Combination Technician. This full-time, hourly position will join the Fiber Drop crew(s) at Visionary Broadband, a division of Visionary Communications, Inc., one of the top service providers in the region. This position will be based out of our Cheyenne, WY location.

Wage Range: $23.50-25.00/hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

Underground Drop

• Safely and efficiently install underground cables in residential and commercial environments.
• Use best practices for installing underground wiring so as not to violate local building codes.
• Operate various trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk beside trencher.
• Locate existing buried copper and fiber facilities and comply with 811 requirements (OneCall) before any digging projects, properly identifying other utility flags and safely working around other utilities.
• Load reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required.
• Bury cable and conduit systems, by operating blowing, plowing, digging, boring, and trenching equipment and pulling fiber and cable through conduit systems.

Overhead Drop

• Safely and efficiently install overhead cables in residential and commercial environments.
• Use best practices for installing underground wiring so as not to violate local codes and regulations or customer specs.
• Load reel trailers with strand, fiber or cable as required.
• Hang overhead cable or strand using various methods including but not limited to a ladder, bucket truck, or gaffs.
• Pull fiber and cable through conduit systems

Tower Technician

• Install equipment on Tower
• Assembling electronic equipment in racks/cabinets, plumbing all RF, wiring
• Telecom Installation of RF/ground/power/telecommunications cabling.
• Completion of client and company checklists, photos, and test results typically communicated to management (emails, uploads to FTP, Web Interface, etc.)
• Maintain network documentation with a very high level of accuracy
• Completing work that is assigned while on 24-hour on call duty to resolve any tower-related or customer issues

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate must possess the following skills, or have equivalent experience and/or qualifications:

• A valid driver's license and be insurable to drive a company vehicle is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as ability to quickly learn and work within proprietary computer applications.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Flexibility to work outside of standard 8am-5pm hours and be willing to travel on a weekly basis.
• Must be willing to travel within the region (Montana, Wyoming and Colorado) 30-50% of the time (hotels and per diem paid for out of town travel). Generally, you will be home most weekends.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry up to and above 50 pounds.
• Utilize fine motor coordination, clear speech, and good visual acuity.
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Exposure to outside weather conditions
