Overview At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Service Manager is responsible for overall customer satisfaction by inspiring and motivating a team committed to providing superior service in a fast‑paced and friendly environment. Additionally, they lead front‑end operations and oversee the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. The role drives store sales, team member recruitment, engagement and retention. It provides robust customer advocacy through dynamic leadership focused on customers and team members. The Service Manager proactively prepares work schedules, trains team members, and helps achieve store goals related to sales, labor, margins, and shrink. Responsibilities Positively shape store culture by modeling leadership behaviors aligned to Sprouts values. Consistently drive customer satisfaction by ensuring team members provide superior service. Demonstrate product knowledge when assisting customers and working with team members. Listen to and resolve customer complaints in compliance with company standards. Champion activity and results surrounding the customer service surveys and portal. Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude, leadership, organization and time‑management skills, and willingness to learn new products. Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes and product knowledge to the team. Coordinate and execute Team Member Appreciation Week, Team Member of the Month, and other reward and recognition programs. Organize in‑store hiring events, conduct interviews and build a candidate pipeline with the Region Talent Advisor Specialist. Manage hourly staff scheduling, training and development, discipline, and performance appraisals. Celebrate store successes and identify/address opportunities for improvement. Oversee Administrative Coordinator, Head Cashiers, Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks and In‑Store Shoppers. Lead front‑end operations, ensuring department records, cash handling and accounting comply with laws and policies. Manage team member concerns and conflicts through proactive discussions. Facilitate career development conversations and support movement across the organization. Communicate sales promotion information to cashier team for proper execution. Provide and receive constructive feedback for effective collaboration. Ensure proper posting of store signage (compliance, sales event, holiday and door signage). Execute company programs to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction while complying with safety, labeling, health and weight‑and‑measure standards. Maintain clean, sanitized and organized work areas including tables, floors, walls and display cases. Enforce safe and compliance regulations in the work environment. Assist with receiving, unloading, stocking, facing and rotating merchandise, ensuring code‑date compliance. Build and maintain sales‑floor displays in line with company standards. Verify accurate labeling and pricing on all products and oversee price changes. Report temperature failures of cases, shelves or storage areas to Store Manager. Resolve emergencies, crises and equipment failures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications At least 21 years old. High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising or related field preferred. Demonstrated success leading full‑store operations with integrity, including profit & loss, safety, sanitation, staffing, disciplinary actions, training, developing leaders, performance appraisals, inventory/shrink management and sales‑promotion execution. Strong communication skills, written and verbal; analytical and solution‑focused decisiveness. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time‑attendance and HR software. Flexible to work a schedule that changes based on business needs, including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to lift 60 pounds between 15 and 70 inches above ground; heavier loads occasionally. Push and pull merchandise racks and U‑boats—80 to 100 pounds. Stand on hard surfaces continuously; walk up to 2 miles; reach vertically; transfer items horizontally. Wear PPE such as non‑slip, closed‑toe shoes, long pants and gloves (latex or cut‑resistant). Use tools and equipment including phone, computer, ovens, freezers, meat/cheese cutters, grinders, scales, mixers, box cutters, scanners, cash register, carts and pallet jacks.
