Registered Nurse - Stepdown Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour day shifts, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Stepdown Unit team. The unit features a total of 32 beds, including 12 stepdown beds and 20 floor beds. The nurse will handle a variety of patient diagnoses typical of a medical-surgical population, including chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, and abdominal pain. The RN will play a critical role in the treatment and care of patients as part of a dedicated healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a stepdown and floor unit setting.
• Monitor vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement patient care plans.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips in conjunction with the telemetry monitor techs.
• Participate in the training of new nursing staff as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous experience in a stepdown or acute care setting preferred.
