Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerCharlotte, North Carolina, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13$2,090.14/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)Openings: 1Start date: 2026-11-02DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 18 months of PCU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.DetailsWork in a combined MedSurg/PCU unit with 10 MedSurg beds and 10 Progressive bedsPatient population includes heart failure, chest pain, r/o stroke, sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, DKA, and interventional patients with titratable dripsRN to patient ratio of 1:5-6 for MedSurg and 1:3-4 for PCU12hr night shift (7p-7a), 36 hours per weekWeekend rotation every other weekendNo on-call requirementsFloating required to all facilities within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH-peds) as needed within scope of practiceUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitorsRequirementsActive RN license (NC or Compact) requiredCurrent certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSMinimum 18 months of PCU experience requiredGeneral PCU skillset required including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management), and PCA pumpsExperience managing medication drips including cardiac drips, Heparin, Insulin, blood products, and IVFEpic EMR experience requiredOne professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN requiredLast 4 of SSN and full DOB required for considerationAdditional InformationFacility has 207 licensed beds, no trauma designation, is not a teaching hospital, and is designated as a Chest Pain and Stroke CenterSupport staff includes CNAs, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy for peripheral draws, IV/VAT team, resource nurse as staffing allows, and 24/7 RT and hospitalist coverageOrientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientationHoliday coverage required for 75% of holidaysRTO of up to 6 days may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not metNavy scrub color requiredFree parking availableUnit culture emphasizes teamworkTraveler's permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the home unit; local candidates not acceptedFirst-time travelers not preferred but will be consideredReturning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
