The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hudsonville that are seeking skilled Tool Makers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, repair, and modify tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment.
- Perform precision measurements using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues to support production.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Expertise in operating manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and various material properties
