The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Walker that are seeking Tool and Die Makers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new dies, tools, and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing dies and tooling.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and dies.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders).
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct quality inspections of finished tools and dies.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience (4+ years)
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and measurement techniques (e.g., GD&T)
• Ability to operate a variety of machine tools (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs)
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and programming

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
• Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machinery
• Certification or formal training in a specialized area (e.g., EDM, welding, metrology)
• Experience with advanced measurement tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, laser trackers)
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
