Key Responsibilities

• Direct the implementation of individualized physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function in accordance with agreed-upon care plans.
• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring the faithful implementation of the plan of care and fostering a culture of teamwork.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
• Assess clients' home environments during visits to identify barriers to recovery and make recommendations to enhance clients' independence.
• Deliver physical therapy services as prescribed by attending physicians, ensuring adherence to regulations and safety protocols.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, and the application of various physical agents.
• Select, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing detailed recommendations to clients and their physicians.
• Regularly document and communicate with interdisciplinary team members about clients' progress and suggestions for modifications to care plans.
• Instruct clients and their families on the use and maintenance of physical therapy equipment, ensuring they understand their home therapy regimens.
• Contribute to the overall treatment planning process by participating in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse client population, including those recovering from surgical procedures, individuals with chronic pain, and patients seeking rehabilitation post-injury. You will engage with patients ranging from younger adults to seniors, tailoring your approach to suit their unique needs and goals. By fostering a caring and supportive relationship, you will help empower clients to achieve their maximal physical potential and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A valid and current physical therapist license in the state of Virginia, demonstrating your qualifications to practice physically.
• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of post-licensure experience in acute or home care settings, with a solid understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, reflecting your experience and qualifications.
