IT Application Development Supervisor

Salary: $85,800 - 112,572 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking current DOL employees only.
• We need nine years of progressive professional experience in one or more IT disciplines such as consulting, analysis, design, programming, architecture, or software application maintenance.
• We need at least two years of experience as an IT supervisor or team lead.
• We need five years of professional software development experience, including work with MS Visual Studio, C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, Team Foundation Server or similar source control tools, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and related libraries such as jQuery, MS-SQL Transact SQL, IIS administration, relational databases, and interpreting user requirements and design documentation.

• Relevant education in computer science or a closely related field may replace experience on a year-for-year basis.
• An associate degree equals two years, a bachelors degree equals four years, and a masters degree equals five years of experience.
• We prefer three additional years of software developer experience using XML, JavaScript, VB.NET, C#, SQL Reporting Services, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, web services, SQL, and Visual Studio.
• Candidates must be able to work onsite in Olympia, WA on an infrequent basis.
• Candidates must pass a pre-employment screening, including criminal history review.
• Candidates must have work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

• We will lead a team that designs, develops, and supports enterprise applications for critical Department of Licensing services.
• We will provide both technical direction and people leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and dependable solutions.
• We will supervise, coach, and develop IT application developers, including workload management, performance oversight, hiring, and professional development.
• We will oversee the design, build, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise applications and technology solutions.
• We will create application architecture, technical standards, and best practices that support secure, reliable, and maintainable systems.
• We will collaborate with business units, technical teams, stakeholders, and agency leadership to deliver solutions aligned with agency priorities.
• We will direct database design, data integration, and data management to ensure information remains accurate, secure, and accessible.
• We will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and review technical work completed by the team.
• We will establish and monitor testing, quality assurance, and deployment processes to support successful releases and reduce production issues.
• We will research emerging technologies and identify ways to improve applications, reduce technical debt, and strengthen our technology environment.
