Accounts Payable

Job Summary:
Gay Buick GMC is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Specialist. This is a full-time, hourly position in the accounting and finance department of our busy auto dealership in Dickinson, Texas. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the payment of our dealership's invoices and ensuring that all accounts are paid accurately and on time. This is an individual contributor role, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Responsibilities:
- Review and process invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner
- Verify that all invoices have the proper approval and coding
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and mail out payments to vendors
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all payments
- Communicate with vendors to resolve any payment issues or inquiries
- Assist with month-end close process and prepare necessary reports
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
