This position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff at the Fairbanks Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to ninety-one (91) elders.

What You Will Be Doing: Manage resident care services staff oversees the overall direct care of the residents and assists the Administrator in ongoing planning organizing directing and coordinating of all direct care activities. Focus will be on quality resident care the growth development and empowerment of health care teams and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

It is nestled in 16 beautiful acres of birch and spruce trees convenient to the local senior center next door.

Other Job Information:
- This position is in support of the Pioneer Home which is a 24-hour facility.
- This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility where the environment includes contact with plants flowers and pets including cats dogs fish and birds.
- Employees of the Pioneer Home receive continual screening for tuberculosis criminal history and COVID-19 as required by the facility.

A bachelors degree from an accredited college in gerontology nursing health administration a health-related field business administration or public administration.

One year of experience supervising professional and assistive staff in a health service program such as a residential care facility home health care service hospital doctors office or similar experience in social or community service management.- Completion of a Nursing Home Administrator-in-Training program will substitute for the required bachelors degree.
- Three years of nursing experience and eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse or registered nurse with the State of Alaska will substitute for the bachelors degree.
Positions require a background investigation including fingerprinting and a valid Alaska drivers license.Additional Required Information

- Two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information.
If selected and prior to hire applicant will be asked to:
- Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening.
- Provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date.
- Provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s) if available.
- Provide a copy of their current drivers license.
