Position Overview This position functions as a subject matter expert in Client Service operations. You will bring consistency and experience to existing Client Services Account Managers in the local market by analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning. The role supports assigned provider groups and/or financial pools, assisting fellow account managers to achieve short‑ and long‑term operational and strategic business goals. Together with the local Client Services Associate Director or Director, you will develop and implement effective business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. You will sustain a strong day‑to‑day relationship with stakeholders, providers, and office staff to implement solutions developed by Optum leadership. You are accountable for overall performance and profitability of the assigned provider groups and/or financial pools. Schedule: FT, 40 hrs. Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST Location: Remote in Ohio. Candidates must reside in OH and be able to be in the field approximately 50% of the time. If you reside near Cleveland, OH, you will have the flexibility of a hybrid‑remote position. Primary Responsibilities Analyze risk pool and/or provider group performance to identify areas of focus or improvement opportunities, including financial statement analysis. Develop strategies and action plans that align provider pools and groups with company initiatives, goals (revenue and expense) and quality outcomes. Drive processes and improvement initiatives that directly impact revenue, HEDIS/STAR measures, quality metrics, coding and documentation process. Use and analyze data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business and clients, and collaborate with colleagues and business partners to identify root causes of issues. Collaborate with clinical services teams and Client Services leaders to monitor utilization trends and risk pools and help develop strategic plans to improve performance. Assist provider groups with investigating standard and non‑standard requests and problems, including claims and member support services. Maintain effective support services by working with the Director of Client Services, Regional Medical Director, Clinical Services team, Operations and other corporate departments. Demonstrate understanding of providers' business goals and strategies to facilitate analysis and resolution of their issues. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Apply strong analytical skills to compile and report key information. Lead process and technology improvement initiatives that impact revenue, HEDIS/STAR measures and quality metrics using standard project methodology. Engage provider staff in analysis and evaluation of functional models and process improvements; identify dependencies and priorities. Evaluate and drive processes, provider relationships and implementation plans. Produce, publish and distribute scheduled and ad‑hoc client and operational reports on product development and performance. Collaborate with other Client Services leads to foster teamwork and build consistency throughout the market. Serve as liaison to the health plan and all customers. Employ strong presentation skills, problem solving and conflict resolution. Communicate effectively with physicians, staff and internal departments. Voluntary Benefits such as pet insurance, legal insurance, LTC Insurance, etc. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or related field OR 5+ years of experience in medical field or health plan setting (network management, contracting, recruitment, or provider relations). 2+ years of experience with Medicare health care operations, including HEDIS, CMS reimbursement models and Medicare Advantage. 2+ years of experience working with state and federal laws relating to Medicare. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Willing and able to travel locally and non‑locally as needed. Access to reliable transportation and a valid US driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or related field. 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related field. 3+ years of healthcare management experience.
