Sales Proposal Engineer

Overview We are a global leader in high‑power, high‑performance motors, drives, generators, power conversion and packaged solutions. This role supports the Motion High Power Division, Packaging Business Line in New Berlin, WI and Houston, TX. Responsibilities Lead proposal activities for variable frequency drive system projects, reviewing customer specifications, system dimensioning, product configuration, and supporting contract reviews and negotiations. Interface with project execution and commissioning teams to outline and validate project schedules and commissioning services. Lead the internal Project Risk Review process covering technical, financial, and commercial aspects of proposals. Establish and maintain effective customer relationships and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Identify risks and opportunities from customer requirements and prescribe mitigation actions in coordination with the Project Execution team. Identify potential vendors, evaluate supplier proposals against specifications, and work with primary vendors on standardized pricing agreements. Prepare and deliver customer‑ready product and solution presentations virtually and on‑site. Work with sales and customers to position products and services as solutions to challenging problems, ensuring the value we offer is communicated and appreciated. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 10+ years of business experience in sales, product engineering, technical support, application engineering, or test engineering. Strong technical knowledge of medium‑voltage variable‑speed drives and applications. Commercial astuteness and ability to work independently in a deadline‑driven environment. Travel requirement of 20‑40%.
