Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the needs and challenges of children and adolescents, applying standardized evaluation tools and personal interviews.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider each patient's developmental stage and family dynamics, ensuring holistic and culturally competent care.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to address a range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, equipping parents and caregivers with strategies to foster a nurturing environment that supports their children’s mental health.

• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, regularly consulting with child psychiatrists and other specialists to discuss treatment progress and modify plans as needed.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques and developing safety plans for high-risk situations.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and external community resources to empower them in their healing journey.
\n
• Ensure meticulous documentation of all client interactions and treatment plans, adhering to legal regulations and ethical standards to maintain confidentiality.

• Actively participate in team meetings and case consultations to foster collaborative relationships and contribute insights on best practices in child and adolescent therapy.

• Stay informed of the latest research, treatment techniques, and developments in child and adolescent psychiatry to enhance your skills and effectiveness as a therapist.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role involves working with children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health challenges. Our patients often exhibit symptoms related to anxiety, depression, attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other behavioral issues. Your expertise will be imperative in creating age-appropriate therapeutic strategies to engage young clients and promote positive mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• A minimum of three years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling or a related field.
\n
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders, therapeutic modalities, and evidence-based practices relevant to this population.

• Demonstrated experience in providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a genuine, compassionate approach to working with young clients and their families.

• A proven ability to establish rapport and trust with children and adolescents, ensuring they feel safe and heard during sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in telehealth services, particularly in managing remote therapy sessions for children and families.

• Familiarity with utilizing screening tools and assessments tailored for children and adolescents.

• Clinical supervision experience or leadership within child psychiatry teams is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
