Sonographer

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient‑centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a Temporary/PRN position for the day shift from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday to Saturday, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(90%) Sonography Imaging Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure. Explain and prepare patients for sonography imaging procedures, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged. Perform routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure. Adjust sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed. Follow physicians' orders precisely, conform to safety regulations, and accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Maintain an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members. Maintain the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements. (5%) Sonography Department Support Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades. Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary. Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable. (5%) Other Duties as Assigned Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, or equivalent. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.). Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support). OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. Bilingual.
