This full-time position primarily focuses on providing comprehensive therapy services in a remote capacity while also facilitating face-to-face outpatient sessions for children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-home therapy sessions and provide group therapy in the outpatient center, tailored to meet the specific needs of each child and family.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to help children develop anger management skills, effective coping strategies, and improved social skills while addressing high-risk behaviors like self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Support the development of decision-making skills in both youth and their caregivers, equipping them to manage in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary professionals committed to enhancing the well-being of the youth and their families.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring they are submitted within designated timelines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement of services offered.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will primarily work with a diverse population of children and teens, generally ranging from ages 3 to 20, who experience developmental disabilities or intellectual challenges. This population requires specialized therapeutic approaches to address complex emotional and behavioral issues, and your role will significantly influence their ability to thrive in home and community settings.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is essential.
\n
• Possession of a valid, unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with weekend availability considered a plus.

Preferred Experience\n

• Hands-on experience providing positive behavioral support and interventions is strongly preferred.

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents, specifically in the context of developmental disabilities (I/DD), is a significant advantage.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required for in-home visits.

• Passing a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a precondition for employment.
