Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit with a typical 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, with flexibility up to 1:5 in emergent situations
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform IV insertions and manage IV therapy as part of routine patient care
• Care for a patient population with varying acuity, including patients who may be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry level in larger facilities
• Document all patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to unit scheduling expectations, including availability for some weekend shifts; weekend block schedules (Fri-Sat-Sun or Sat-Sun-Mon) may be considered

• Active RN license in West Virginia or a Compact state (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall; at least 1 year in Med/Surg or Telemetry and at least 2 years in a Stepdown setting
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Proficiency with IV insertion and telemetry monitoring
• Must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

• Prior travel nursing experience, though not required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR in a stepdown or intermediate care setting
• Experience managing patients with varying acuity levels, including progressive care and telemetry patients
