Consumer & Market Insights and Category Insights Manager (Bad Head) (Hackensack)

Reports To: Global Head of Brand

Location: Hackensack, NJ | Hybrid — 3 days onsite

The Opportunity

Join the Global Brand team supporting Bed Head , a bold, globally recognized haircare brand. This is a high-impact role connecting consumer insights, category performance, brand strategy, and sales .

You’ll turn consumer and retail data into insights that shape brand strategy, innovation, marketing, and retailer growth — partnering closely with the Global Head of Brand, Head of Sales, and broader commercial team.

What You'll Do

Consumer & Market Insights

• Own syndicated data reporting and analysis across Bed Head using Nielsen and Circana/IRI .
• Track category trends, share shifts, competitors, pricing, promotions, launches, and whitespace opportunities.
• Lead consumer research including usage & attitudes, concept/product/creative testing, brand health, awareness, and segmentation .
• Translate research and data into recommendations for brand strategy, NPD, and marketing .
• Build compelling, data-driven stories for retailer pitches, sell-in presentations, and new distribution opportunities .

Category & Retail Insights

• Own category management fundamentals including assortment, SKU rationalization, planograms, shelf strategy, and space-to-sales analysis .
• Lead retailer category reviews and track category KPIs such as distribution, velocity, and share of shelf .
• Build and maintain weekly/monthly POS dashboards and retailer scorecards by retailer and SKU.
• Analyze sell-through, inventory, and performance to identify risks and growth opportunities .
• Partner with Sales to turn data into clear selling stories that win retailer support .

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years in consumer insights, market research, category insights, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Nielsen/Circana/IRI syndicated data .
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research; innovation/NPD experience is a plus .
• Strong understanding of consumer, shopper, category, and retail analytics .
• Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to connect multiple data sources and turn them into clear business recommendations .
• Strategic, analytical, creative, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment .
