Design Build Project Director

Date: May 18, 2026 Location: Canonsburg, PA, US Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies (Black & Veatch Corporation) Job Title: Design Build Project Director As the Project Director, you will manage all aspects of large Design Build/Service projects, including risk to safety, cost, schedule, quality and client relationship. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day execution of the contracted Design Build scope in performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. You will lead large multi‑discipline teams, coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities, and ensure successful staffing of the project. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion. Key Responsibilities Lead business development efforts: marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting. Oversee project execution: manage external client interactions, develop market business and client engagement strategies, and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities. Manage team: develop performance goals, supervise internal project team and owner representatives, perform budgeting, invoicing, payments, and lead performance reviews. Staff management: mentor and coach team members, recommend training and promotion, and identify new candidates. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual and financial metrics. Preferred Qualifications 20+ years of wastewater/water treatment experience with demonstrated leadership in the Texas market. Professional Engineering license and Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Understanding of budgets and financial metrics. Contract negotiation skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
