This leadership role is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA, Melbourne, FL, San Diego, CA, Clearfield, UT or Oklahoma City, OK or Palmdale, CA.This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. This position is contingent upon the candidate verification/obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.The ideal candidate will provide vision and leadership in the conduct of complex Survivability manufacturing, technology integration, training and inspection of LO platforms. Candidate should be well versed in key elements of Survivability Production, Inspection, Sequencing, and Training to yield broadband performance on LO platforms that can be rapidly built with first time quality and efficiently maintained in the field.This role will serve as technical lead and consultant to various legacy and advanced programs, and Sector initiatives. Responsibilities of this role will include:Support multiple programs, IRAD/CRAD projects, and sector initiatives in a leadership or advisory role including the advancement of new technologies through design, integration, testing, and productionDevelop and maintain of the NGAS Survivability Production vision and develop a roadmap for technology integration into ProductionParticipate and occasionally lead independent review teamsSpecial assignments to uncover and resolve complex challengesDevelop and mentor the next generation of engineers in discipline. This includes the development of training materialAct as a thought leader for the Survivability community, working across sectors as requiredAdvise multiple levels of management on technical research, applications and long-range business planningEngage and support the United States Department of War Survivability community to facilitate engagements and/or partnerships leading to future business capture opportunitiesCandidate should have broad-based knowledge and experience in the following key areas:Have deep technical understanding of the predictive capabilities, input fidelity required to execute the predictions and subcomponent validation like material property measurements, subcomponent tests, or full-size representative test models needed to mitigate unacceptable program risk and ensure NGC maintains its credibility with the technical approachCommunicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities and communicate technical capabilities and analyses with internal stakeholders and external customers (government customers and company leadership).Sound understanding of Survivability design, materials and the tolerances required to achieve specific levels of performance in production vehiclesKnowledge of RF and IR material characterization, performance and application in Survivability design (including metamaterials)Expert experience analyzing and explaining similarities and differences between predicted RCS data to measured RCS for full-scale component data, full-scale vehicle data and flight test data Experience with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Pioneer or SABERExperience in survivability component design including more than two major aircraft componentsExperience with Tier I, II, III and IV measurement tools and validationKnowledge of manufacturing best practices for Survivability materials and technologiesOur Leaders at Northrop Grumman live our values daily and encourage our teams to do the same. Finally, We pioneer: setting a vision that shapes the future and inspires others.Basic Qualifications:Bachelors, Master’s, and/or PhD in a relevant STEM degree and robust industry related experience; 20 years of experience with a BS or 18 years of experience with an MS or PhDMust have significant experience with Survivability inspection and repair techniques including materials integration/design, and technology transfer to Production for LO PlatformsMust have extensive knowledge of aircraft contributors to survivability and the design trade space with aircraft performance from Test through Production and SustainmentMust have experience with innovating and quantifying the effects of new unique technologies that improve aircraft survivability and program efficiencyMust have experience working with suppliers to understand producibility and scalabilityAt minimum, an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance level is required to apply and to start the role, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access and Top Secret Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needsPreferred QualificationsIndustry expert who has experience presenting and publishing technical material to members of Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and federally funded research and development centersAbility to effectively communicate the relevance and mission effectiveness of survivability technologiesExtensive knowledge of industry signature tools and techniques for survivability testingExperience with tiger team assignments to uncover or resolve complex challengesSignificant experience in developing and mentoring engineers and technicians in discipline Experience working across industry to facilitate engagements and/or partnerships leading to future business capture opportunities or technological advancementExperience working in a SAP/SAR environmentAn active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [TS/SCI] current and within scope, at time of application; current or previous Special Access Program (SAP) clearance heldPrimary Level Salary Range: $189,400.00 - $328,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
