Eligibility Specialist (Bilingual)

Description Participates in patient eligibility determination for Ryan White (RW) programming. Remains current on patient eligibility requirements and enrollment protocols. Serves as primary contact in the management of the Ryan White database used for documenting clinic activity and the annual completion of the Ryan White Service Data Report (RSR). The position is full‑time and is located on‑site. Responsibilities Maintain the Ryan White database system reflecting clinic services related to Ryan White eligible patients, e.g., Take Charge Texas (TCT) or other compatible database systems. Determine patient eligibility ensuring Ryan White compliance. Interview and gather information from patients as required. Complete necessary forms and maintain complete and accurate records on clients. Comply with Ryan White, state and private funding requirements. Participate in audit preparations and reporting requirements for the Ryan White program. Work closely with the clinic manager regarding compliance with all Ryan White policies, procedures and protocols. Participate in the agency's quality improvement program. Understand and uphold CentroMed’s mission and values relating to ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility and objectives. Actively participate in maintaining high levels of excellent customer service internally and externally. Abide by all policies and procedures set forth by CentroMed. Ensure the protection and security of consumer personal, confidential and identifiable information in a professional and responsible manner and carry out all measures to prevent unauthorized disclosures, demonstrating and maintaining the standards and requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Assist in training new employees in performing their duties as requested. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. At least six months experience in a health‐care setting – preferably a public health setting. Proficient use of calculator and computer skills preferred. Ability to establish a positive working relationship with staff members and the public.
