Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week | Every 3rd Weekend | No On-Call | Floating Required

Pay Rate

Local: $60 - $65/hr
Traveler: $60 - $69/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN to provide individualized nursing care to Orthopedics, Surgical, and Telemetry patients, including post-operative and complex medical care.

Required Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license or multi-state compact RN license.

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 3 years preferred.

• Prior Surgical and/or Radiology experience required.

• Surgical/Post-operative experience required.

• Experience with symptom management, phone triage, and patient navigation.

• Experience with ostomies, NG tubes, and wound vacs.

• ASN/Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.

• BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.

• Telemetry certification/experience.

• NIH Stroke certification and 4-hour stroke CEU.

• Epic Clinical Documentation (CLD) Inpatient RN experience.

• Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and adaptability skills.

• BSN and bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, individualized nursing care to Orthopedics, Surgical, and Telemetry patients.

• Perform comprehensive age- and disease-specific patient assessments.

• Monitor clinical and diagnostic status and initiate appropriate interventions.

• Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individualized care plans.

• Provide post-operative nursing care and manage complex medical needs.

• Administer medications using barcode scanning and electronic documentation.

• Provide patient and family education based on individual learning needs.

• Manage and document care involving ostomies, NG tubes, wound vacs, and other post-operative needs.

• Perform phone triage and patient navigation as required.

• Communicate and coordinate with physicians, nurses, support services, patients, and families.

• Maintain electronic documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary discharge planning and support safe transitions of care.

• Advocate for patients and families while maintaining evidence-based nursing and safety standards.

• Float to other inpatient units as needed.
