Posted: Mar 13, 2026 Overview DEPARTMENT: Computer Science POSITION TITLE: Lecturer Pool - Computer Science Department of Computer Science at Sacramento State is one of the longest-established and largest computer science programs in the CSU system. The department educates computer professionals since 1969 and serves approximately 1600 major students. The department also offers a variety of non-major courses to provide practical experience in information technology and enable students from other fields to gain relevant skills for computer-related industries. Responsibilities Teach part-time in assigned courses; engage in class preparation, grading, and maintaining office hours. Follow course assignments, including dates, time, and modality, as determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field Required: Excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications Preferred: Doctoral Degree in Computer Science or a related field Preferred: Teaching experience at the university level Compensation and Appointment Details Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank with salary ranges published by the university. Further details on how a semester is compensated are provided by the department.
