Director of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center

the client seeks an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the next Director of the client cancer center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center with a strong tradition of cancer research, education, and community engagement. This pivotal role will build on the center’s momentum and lead a high-performing organization that recently achieved strong performance and a rare seven-year merit extension in its most recent Cancer Center Support Grant renewal. the client cancer center is known for a collaborative, transdisciplinary culture and a commitment to addressing cancer burdens in its catchment area, including Los Angeles County, one of the most diverse counties in the nation. The Director will lead efforts to advance impactful translational research, reduce cancer disparities, and improve outcomes for patients locally, nationally, and globally, supported by a strong foundation that includes multiple research programs, shared resources, and a robust clinical trials infrastructure with demonstrated success in engaging diverse populations. the successful candidate will be a visionary physician-scientist or scientist with a demonstrated record of impactful cancer research, an understanding of the complexities of NCI-designated cancer center operations, and the ability to inspire and align a diverse community of faculty, staff, trainees, and external partners. The Director will oversee research programs, shared resources, and the clinical trials enterprise, work closely with executive leadership to execute an ambitious plan across research, clinical, and community domains, and steward the center for future CCSG renewals, including a next competitive submission in 2028.
