Assistant General ManagerJoin a growing, successful regional family-owned and professionally managed company serving customers since 1934!We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to help lead the overall operations of a stand-alone business unit. This is a key leadership position responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, developing management teams, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring the location consistently meets or exceeds company goals.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who leads by example, builds strong teams, identifies opportunities for improvement, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and operational results.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations and provide leadership to plant and staff personnel.Manage and support multiple departments, including Warehouse, Office Administration, Route Distribution, Customer Service, and Outside Sales.Train, mentor, and develop management and supervisory personnel.Ensure company policies, procedures, training, and operational standards are consistently followed.Manage company assets, including the building, equipment, fleet, inventory, and accounts receivable.Monitor inventory, collections, and overall financial performance.Support customer service, sales, marketing, and community relations initiatives.Participate in budgeting, P&L management, employee evaluations, presentations, and goal setting.Delegate responsibilities effectively and follow up to ensure results.Identify opportunities to improve operations, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.Represent the company professionally within the community.Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.Leadership & Management SkillsHands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and lead by example.Strong management, organizational, and decision-making skills.Excellent common sense and problem-solving abilities.Ability to effectively manage conflict and develop employees through coaching and training.Strong goal-setting, delegation, and follow-up skills.Ability to manage a business unit and work toward established financial and operational objectives.High energy, positive attitude, and willingness to be actively involved in the business.Technical & Communication SkillsUnderstanding of a production or product-based environment.Knowledge of products, equipment, and general business operations.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Comfortable using technology and the internet for internal and external communication.Excellent verbal and telephone communication skills.Comfortable communicating with employees and management at all levels.Self-starter who recognizes and takes advantage of opportunities for improvement.QualificationsPrevious management or supervisory experience required.Four-year degree preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of experience managing business operations.Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.Must be able to pass a drug screen when required.Strong leadership presence and a high level of energy.Proven ability to manage multiple departments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.BenefitsCompetitive salary401(k) with generous company matchPaid vacationBonus and profit-sharing opportunitiesCompany cell phoneMedical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Short-Term Disability insuranceOpportunity for professional growth and advancementCompany DescriptionTarheel Linen is a linen rental supply and commercial laundry company.
