Program Analyst

This position is for a temporary promotion, not to exceed 1 year. Position may be extended up to 3 years, or be converted to permanent without further competition. You may be returned at any time to the position from which you were temporarily promoted, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay. This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-9. At the GS-7 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-9. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate with numerous contacts within VISN 23 and the VA Central Office in Washington, DC.
• Provide administrative support to the health care management team.
• Assist on complex administrative matters affecting the health care delivery system.
• Complete cost and personnel analysis on Surgical and Specialty Clinics.
• Manage data and reports from various systems, such as DSS, VISTA, CPRS, MCAA, and VSSC.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct evaluations to recommend process improvements to increase productivity and access of the service line.
• Interact with customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
• Provide customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
• Safeguard electronic user IDs, passwords, and verify codes.
• Serve as backup timekeeper for the Surgery Service Line.
• Attend meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items with appropriate staff members.
• Process incoming and outgoing materials, such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
