Maintenance Manager

Senior level position, overseeing and managing the implementation of plant maintenance, machine maintenance, preventative maintenance program, and custodial activities utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system. Use the data within the CMMS to develop and justify cost saving opportunities and improve equipment performance. Identify, source and work with outside vendors. Comply with Environmental/Safety Equipment/facility requirements and regulations. Develop and drive Continuous Improvement projects to bolster the maintenance system. Lead, motivate, mentor and direct activities of maintenance staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (other duties may be assigned) Manage the record keeping for all service and maintenance performed on the facility and machinery. Manage the Installation maintenance and repair of production, facility, and support equipment. Ensure the regular and preventative maintenance on production and support equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner while coordinating with production on the job setups and scheduling of down times. Maintain an effective spare parts system. Provide hands on leadership and team support when needed. Manage custodial activities to ensure cleanliness required for medical manufacturing is maintained throughout plant. Develop quality of work audits to ensure work performed meets PRECISION CONCEPTS + COMAR expectations of quality. Supervise, plan, assign, direct work, and give guidance to the hourly employees in the Maintenance Department. Ensure Maintenance team is properly trained on their job duties and proper use of the CMMS system. Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees. Interview, hire, and train new hires. Manage vendor activities and control costs for contracted services while ensuring vendors meet company standards for work and safety. Ensure that all environmental/facility permits and reports are up to date. Ensure that various facility and equipment inspections are performed. Ensure all safety equipment and deterrences are present and operational. Ensure all maintenance personnel adheres to LOTO. Verify training on an annual basis. Promote cleanliness and safety policies and procedures throughout the entire company utilizing tools such as lean manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma. Investigates and diagnoses causes of breakdowns and develops programs and solutions to reduce or eliminate future occurrences. Investigate equipment, plant and system inefficiencies and using Lean tools to develop course of action. PERSONNEL SUPERVISED Maintenance Personnel including Maintenance Technicians, Mold Mechanics, and Custodian. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Minimum four years of experience in maintenance management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a plastics manufacturing facility with RJG or similar training is a plus. SKILLS-ABILITIES Strong engineering knowledge including basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and schematics. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize tasks/projects based on business needs. Must be self-motivated and focused on process improvement. Familiarity with ISO 13485 and current Good Manufacturing Practice. High-energy, team-based management style with a positive personality. Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, maintain flexibility, high level of initiative. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT Frequently: Handle Objects, Sit, Stand, Walk, exposed to excessive noise, work around moving machinery. Regularly: Bend, Climb, Kneel, Use fine finger movements, work in confined quarters.
