RN ICU

The Level 3 Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients using the nursing process. This role involves patient assessment, data collection, care planning, intervention, and evaluation while maintaining professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The RN will also float to various units including ICU/CCU, ED, and others as needed. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of ICU and Emergency Room experience along with multiple certifications. Responsibilities:

• Use the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Collect and report critical patient data and lab/diagnostic results promptly to physicians.
• Perform thorough physical assessments and identify abnormal findings.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on patient needs.
• Advocate for patients and their families throughout care delivery.
• Perform nursing interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
• Evaluate patient outcomes relative to established goals.
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and exercise caution during patient interactions.
• Maintain professional demeanor and effective communication with patients, families, peers, and management.
• Float to units such as North 2, North 3, ICU/CCU, or Emergency Department as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU and Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
• Moderate Sedation certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

• Experience in cardiac catheterization units or critical care float pool.
• Advanced critical care nursing skills.

• Must be able to float to multiple units including ICU, CCU, ED, and other critical care areas.
• Compliance with all safety and hospital policies is mandatory.
• Shared housing available at a cost.

• Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Work schedule may include every other weekend (EOW) shifts.
