Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs, planning and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, and providing skilled nursing care in a surgical environment. The role requires clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition, effective communication, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position supports a healthy workplace and participates in continuing education to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individual plans of care collaboratively with the healthcare team.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and responsible persons regarding care.
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition promptly.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records in compliance with standards.
• Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict using professional communication skills.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Participate in continuing education activities to maintain and enhance professional skills.

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Ability to perform assessments, treatment planning, and patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and skills relevant to Operating Room nursing.

• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or specialty certifications related to ICU, Emergency Room, or Cardiac Care.
• Experience in critical care areas such as Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Cardiac Services, or Emergency Room.
• Familiarity with specialized procedural areas like Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Imaging, or Electrocardiology.
• Continuing education in specialty areas pertinent to perioperative nursing.

• Work includes 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts with on-call duties as required.
• No block scheduling requests; shift assignments cannot be guaranteed.
• Work environment is fast-paced and requires adherence to strict patient care protocols.

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, including on-call responsibilities.
• Shift assignments are determined by hospital staffing needs without block scheduling guarantees.
