Accountant II

Accountant PositionEssential Functions:Perform accountant functions within area of support - such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting, or financial reporting.Verify, compile, and classify financial information.Prepare entries into accounts and document business transactions.Perform account reconciliations.Assist with maintaining internal controls documentation and testing.Prepare audit support and interact with independent auditors.May support subsidiary (domestic or international) accounting.Assist in maintaining financial policies and procedures.May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the company's quality management systems and controls.Ensure compliance requirements are monitored and met.Drive processes within area of support – such as cash management and treasury, fixed asset accounting, payroll accounting, or financial reporting.Assist with preparation of annual financial information reports.Coordinate periodic financial and controls review by independent auditors.Create and update key reports and spreadsheets.Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.Contributes to the team and projects in an above average manner.May provide leadership on projects or teams.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.2 - 5 years' experience in a related position, or experience in lieu of education or professional certification in lieu of experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Technical Proficiency: Competency to design tools/software and a foundation understanding of engineer principles for practical application.Problem Solving Skills: Ability to identify design challenges, propose solutions, and trouble shoot issues with guidance.Communication Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts, collaborate within teams, and covey ideas effectively.Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies, methodologies, and adapt to project requirements and team dynamics.Analytical Thinking: Capacity to analyze data, interpret specifications, and contribute to design solutionsPhysical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.
