Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The position involves rotating night/evening shifts, primarily from 19:00 to 07:30, with possible evening shifts from 15:00 to 03:30.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) with at least 2 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency setting, attending to patients across all age ranges from infants to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
• Assess patient needs and administer appropriate treatments.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, which can increase to 5 with lower acuity.
• Participate in patient triage and prioritization of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive patient records in the Epic charting system.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide advanced life support as necessary.
• Float within the specialty and sister ED facilities as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact License.
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI.
• Experience using the Epic charting system is required.
