Locum NP/PA Opportunity at North Memorial Health

North Memorial Health is seeking a Locum NP/PA for dates of coverage from May to July. The role involves primarily functioning as a trauma hospitalist rounder, with potential for some intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures. Candidates with surgical and trauma critical care experience are preferred. The call ratio is no call, in-house only. The average number of patients per day ranges from 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non-ICU, and 6 if ICU, with admitting/ED ranging from 2-15 per 24 hours. The documentation system is EPIC. The trauma level is Level I adult, which also cares for Pediatrics. The APP will be working autonomously, with a supervising physician present during the assignment, specifically a Trauma Surgeon available 24-hour per day. The patient age demographic spans 0-100+, primarily adults and adolescents. Mileage is reimbursed.

Required procedures include non-invasive vent management (bipap/cpap), ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line, arterial line, and suturing minor lacerations.

The APP is required to respond to the ED for trauma alerts, facilitate discharges, manage ER admissions, and perform daily rounding and management of all conditions. North Memorial does not reimburse for credentialing costs or application fees.

Submission requirements include being board certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C), having an MN license at the time of name clear, holding ATLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications, working the NOC shift from 7p-7:30a, and having a minimum of 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting, preferably with trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics experience. A self-query NPDB report is required at the time of presentation and must be pulled within the same month as the submission. Verbal confirmation of DEA is required at the time of name clear.
