To support our focus on strategic growth, Reese Hackman has an immediate opening for a motivated, Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer/Designer.

\n

Position Summary

\n

As a Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer/Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills to design high-performing mechanical systems that enhance the built environment. You will play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring emerging engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Manage and lead project teams through all phases of design . This includes development of system designs, directing project teams, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimation related to mechanical engineering scope and staff.
\n
• Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships through the course of project management and business development initiatives.
\n
• Design, develop, and implement mechanical (HVAC) systems for commercial, and institutional buildings.
\n
• Provide quality control oversight of mechanical system designs for various project types.
\n
• Mentor staff members and cultivate strategies for their personal and professional growth.
\n
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall building design.
\n
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing HVAC systems for retrofits or upgrades, providing innovative solutions to improve performance.
\n
• Ensure that all work adheres to RH standards as well as applicable building codes , standards (ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, etc.), and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• 10+ years of experience in HVAC design for commercial and institutional facilities.
\n
• Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) is preferred.
\n
• Project Management experience leading design teams.
\n
• Development of system design concepts and implementation of those concepts through all phases of design.
\n
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Proficiency in Revit
\n
• PE licensure
\n
