The HealthMarkets Sales Leader Opportunity is designed for experienced, growth-minded insurance professionals who have already demonstrated the ability to sell, lead, recruit, and build strong professional relationships.

This opportunity is a step beyond the traditional independent agent role. Sales Leaders are expected to continue building and managing their own book of business while also recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing new agents.

This is not an entry-level leadership or recruiting training program. Candidates should bring established leadership and recruiting capabilities, along with the experience, initiative, and business discipline needed to successfully balance personal production and team development.

What You’ll Do

As a Sales Leader, you will be responsible for two key areas:

Grow Your Own Book of Business

• Build and maintain your personal client portfolio
• Develop new business through leads, referrals, networking, and community relationships
• Help individuals, families, and seniors explore insurance solutions that fit their needs and budgets
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing service
• Remain accountable for your individual sales and production goals

Recruit and Develop Your Team

• Identify and recruit qualified individuals interested in building an insurance business
• Develop and maintain an ongoing pipeline of prospective agents
• Guide the agents you recruit through onboarding and field integration
• Train new agents on the skills and practices necessary to build their businesses
• Mentor agents as they develop their sales capabilities and client portfolios
• Establish clear expectations and reinforce accountability
• Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance guidance
• Help agents create sustainable plans for long-term business growth

• Proven recruiting, networking, or talent-sourcing experience
• Experience identifying, engaging, and attracting qualified candidates
• The ability to train, coach, and mentor new agents

• The ability to build and manage a personal book of business
• Strong communication, follow-up, and organizational skills
• An entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take ownership of outcomes
• The discipline to balance personal production with recruiting and team-development responsibilities

Candidates are expected to bring the foundational leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills required for this opportunity. HealthMarkets will provide tools, resources, and operational support, but this opportunity is not intended to provide foundational training in how to lead or recruit.
