Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Tech IIIWe are hiring an experienced Maintenance Tech III for one of our clients located in Lowell, AR. This role pays $26.50 per hour. The Maintenance Tech III handles a wide range of electrical and mechanical work to keep the plant's equipment, power, and lighting running without interruption. This is a hands-on role for a skilled tech who enjoys troubleshooting, making repairs, and solving problems. The Maintenance Tech III works throughout the facility on electrical systems, machinery, and buildings, and supports the plant's leadership team. This is a safety-sensitive position. You must be able to work at other client facilities, on weekends, on other shifts, and on call when needed. Some work is done outdoors in all weather conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and maintain plant electrical systems and equipment to keep power and lighting running without interruptionTroubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machinery and equipment throughout the facilityMake electrical, plumbing, and general repairs to buildingsDiagnose and fix electrical and electronic problems, and repair or replace equipment as neededCoordinate the setup and operation of "download" systems that send programs from the computer network to machine controllersFabricate, join, and cut ferrous and nonferrous metal parts and structuresWeld and cut all types of material using electric arc, oxyacetylene, or other welding methods in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positionsHelp with mechanical tasks as time allows and as assignedEnter equipment records, data, and notes into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)Operate a forklift safelyTake care of client-provided tools and bring your own tools needed for the jobKeep work areas clean and organizedPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsVocational or technical degree plus at least 6 years of related experience, or an equal combination of education and experienceBasic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machineryAble to read and use technical drawings, prints, and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.)Understanding of basic electrical and electronic theory and mechanicsAble to read mechanical drawings, including complex part drawings, sectional views, electrical symbols, schematics, and ladder logicAble to plan, lay out, and install complex wiring circuits and distribution centers to NEC and local codes, including switches, controls, main and secondary control panels, and electronic devicesAble to diagnose and repair electrical issuesWorking knowledge of precision measuring toolsAble to read a tape measure, do basic math, and use a calculatorStrong mechanical background and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeAble to learn production operations and the client's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systemAble to obtain a forklift operator's licenseDetail-oriented and customer-focusedTakes ownership, has a can-do attitude, and treats others with respect, honesty, and patienceAble to stand for long periods, lift up to 75 pounds, and twist, bend, and reachAble to work outdoors in all weather conditionsAble to work at other client facilities, on weekends, on other shifts, and on callPreferredWelding and fabrication experienceExperience with electrical circuits from low voltage up to 480VPLC experienceKnowledge of AC and DC motor controls (drives) and automated controllers such as AMS systems and CNC controllersIf you are an experienced maintenance tech with strong electrical and mechanical skills, apply today for the Maintenance Tech III position in Lowell, AR. 1st Employment is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
