Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist at Velocity, you will work primarily in the homes of elderly patients, bringing therapy directly to them in a comfortable and familiar environment. The position entails a regular schedule from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will have the resources and support necessary to provide high-quality care, including access to an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to streamline patient documentation and communication with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions, post-surgical cases, and sports-related injuries to create customized treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions that may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to enhance patients' recovery.
• Educate patients on the importance of proper movement mechanics, designing personalized home exercise programs and offering injury prevention strategies.
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic physicians and other medical staff to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care, actively participating in case discussions and treatment adjustments.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using our EMR system, ensuring that all notes reflect patient progress and modifications to their treatment plans.
• Continuously stay updated on the latest trends in orthopedic physical therapy, integrating best practices into daily work to improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on elderly patients, many of whom may have complex medical histories requiring specialized and compassionate care. This position particularly emphasizes understanding the unique challenges faced by older adults, including mobility issues and chronic pain. You will play a crucial role in fostering independence and improving overall quality of life for this demographic.

Qualifications

• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida is required.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution is essential.
• Proven clinical skills and the ability to develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective interaction with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist is required, with a preference for experience within an Assisted Living Facility or similar environments.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
