Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization (Remote)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM  CST (training + ongoing schedule)
Pay:  $20.00/hour (W2)
Type: Contract

Overview

We’re hiring  Pharmacy Technicians to support a  high-volume prior authorization process. In this role you’ll take inbound calls from members and providers, review submitted clinical documentation for completeness, document determinations, and route clinical judgment items to a pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls from members, providers, and other healthcare professionals
• Guide callers through the criteria-based prior authorization process with strong customer service
• Review clinical documentation for completeness and eligibility based on established criteria
• Document approvals/denials accurately and timely
• Escalate clinical judgment calls/complex inquiries to the pharmacist
• Maintain compliance with required protocols and documentation standards

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as a  Pharmacy Technician (administrative support, call center, or similar)
• High-volume customer service / call center experience (1+ year)preferred (healthcare strongly preferred)
• Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
• Strong computer skills (word processing + spreadsheets)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Pharmacy Tech license/certification preferred (and eligibility for registration/licensure per state regulations)

Training / Class Details

• Class start:   October 12, 2026
• Training runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST (no training on 11/26)
