An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support a district-wide maternity leave during the spring semester. Serving multiple elementary campuses, you’ll collaborate closely with a district Occupational Therapist to deliver quality care across varied school environments. This full-time role is ideal for candidates seeking hands-on pediatric experience in a supportive educational setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, active COTA license for South Carolina is required
- Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Comfort traveling between multiple school locations throughout the workweek
- Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and adapt to varying student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct OT services to students at assigned schools (9-10 students per day, 30-minute sessions each)
- Work in collaboration with the district’s Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all sessions
- Support students’ educational goals by helping them develop necessary motor and daily living skills
- Communicate and consult regularly with educators, caregivers, and other support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress monitoring
