This role will work closely with global finance stakeholders and external professional service providers to ensure accurate financial operations, regulatory compliance, and transparent financial reporting.The Finance Manager will initially focus on operational execution and stabilization while progressively taking on greater responsibility for process improvement, financial governance, and organizational scaling. As the business grows, the scope of this role may expand to support finance activities in additional international locations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounting OperationsManage day-to-day finance and accounting activities, including sales data management, billing support, collections coordination, and accounts receivable oversightSupport order processing, invoicing, and cash collection workflows, including implementation and operation of finance-related systemsMaintain accurate financial records in coordination with external accounting service providersMonthly Close & Financial ReportingPrepare, organize, and validate data required for monthly and year-end closing activitiesCoordinate closely with external accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate financial close processesReview draft financial statements and identify variances, trends, and potential risksRegularly provide financial results, business issues, and key insights to management and global stakeholdersTax & ComplianceCoordinate with external tax advisors on U.S. compliance matters, including Sales Tax filings and business registrationsManage state-level Sales Tax data and maintain proper documentation and audit readinessSupport ongoing management of transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirementsMonitor regulatory changes and proactively communicate compliance risks and concerns to stakeholdersBudgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisPerform budget versus actual analysis and explain key variancesSupport annual budgeting and mid- to long-term financial planning processesPrepare financial reports and materials for management review and strategic decision-makingProcess Improvement & Finance GovernanceIdentify operational inefficiencies, control gaps, and process risks within finance operationsCollaborate with leadership teams and external partners to improve finance structures, workflows, and internal controlsContribute to the development and documentation of finance policies and proceduresSupport the scaling of finance operations in alignment with business growthCross-Functional & Administrative SupportDuring the initial phase, support a broad range of hands-on activities to gain a comprehensive understanding of business operationsAssist with data organization, documentation, and finance-related administrative tasksCollaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and administrative teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignmentPerform other duties and special projects as assignedLeadership ResponsibilityThis position does not initially include direct supervisory responsibility. However, the Finance Manager is expected to serve as a key finance leader with strong cross-functional influence and future leadership potential.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field requiredCPA or equivalent professional certification preferredExperience & Skills5-10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related roles, preferably within a multinational company or growing organizationStrong knowledge of U.S. accounting practices, monthly close processes, and Sales Tax complianceExperience working with external accounting and tax service providersProven ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutionsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems; ERP or accounting software experience preferredStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills in English and JapaneseAbility to work independently in a hands-on environment while collaborating with global teamsDemonstrated professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential financial informationTravel RequirementsOccasional domestic travel may be requiredLimited international travel may be required to coordinate with global teams, auditors, and external advisors
