Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Scientist III in Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics for its R&D team in Rockford, Illinois. Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments for MS sample preparation and proteomics workflow development
- Develop, optimize, and evaluate automated and high-throughput sample preparation workflows
- Analyze MS data and assess workflow performance using quantitative proteomics approaches
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and improve workflow sensitivity, robustness, and throughput
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare technical documentation and presentations
Requirements
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, proteomics, or related field; or M.S. with 3+ years experience; or B.S. with 5+ years experience
- Hands-on experience with proteomics and MS sample preparation workflows and techniques
- Experience with LC-MS-based proteomics data acquisition and/or analysis
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming tools for scientific data analysis
- Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, and scientific problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Compensation: $83,300–$138,900 base
