Department BSD MED - Geriatrics - Share Network About the Department The geriatrics program at The University of Chicago has been recognized for excellence in patient care, teaching, and research. U.S. News and World Report has consistently rated our geriatrics program among the top in Illinois and in the nation. Since its inception in 2000, the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine has grown and now includes multiple full-time faculty, fellows, and a broad team of research, clinical, and administrative staff dedicated to improving care for older adults through research, training, and patient care programs described below. Job Summary The Project Coordinator will support the SHARE Network across diverse sectors and settings. Reporting to the Administrative Director, duties include both long-term and short-term tasks, team coordination, and project management. The role requires proactive identification of programmatic issues and continuous improvement of operational activities. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, flexible, reliable, and a strong communicator with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. Responsibilities Plans, supports, and coordinates regular community events in collaboration with internal and external partners. Creates and organizes project-related handouts ensuring materials are current, accurate, printed regularly, and properly filed and stored. Maintains and distributes the Resource Guide to hubs and other community partners. Coordinates activities of students and other learners. Coordinates activities of the Community Advisory Board. Enters and manages quantitative and qualitative data documenting SHARE Network activity. Provides administrative support and database management as assigned. Assists with workforce education interventions in long-term care, hospital and clinic settings; creates newsletters and plans events. Oversees and enhances website content. Creates and grows the audience for email newsletters and social media presence. Represents the SHARE Network at community events as needed. Facilitates small group sessions as needed. Maintains inventory and re-orders supplies. The position requires local travel; must have a car and insurance. Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project. Supports recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assists with study protocols, data collection tools, databases, and general administrative tasks. Demonstrates awareness of research techniques, regulatory policies, and relevant scientific fields. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: College or university degree in a related field. Work Experience: Up to 2 years of related work experience. Certifications: — Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree. Experience: Experience with older adults; working with a multidisciplinary team; developing marketing materials; building relationships with external partners; event coordination, project-based grant work, urban/public health, and community engagement. Preferred Competencies: Demonstrated ability to identify and foster collaborations; strong interpersonal skills; effective communication; organizational and multitasking abilities.
