The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$112,300.00 - $185,300.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?As a member of Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technology, you’ll be joining a strategic and collaborative team that is passionate about transforming our business and technology capabilities and paving the way for best-in-class solutions.As a Data and Information Architect supporting Claim, you will collaborate with senior Technology and Business leaders and apply your knowledge of modern technology to influence and innovate solutions that impact the business. In this role we will look to you to:- Design the next generation information architecture that enables Claim business vision and aligns with the Enterprise reference architecture and design patterns- Drive the implementations of domain driven designs of Data Models, Data APIs and Data Products - Partner with cloud and security architects, data and software engineers to implement cutting-edge but pragmatic solutions that will enable business outcomes using a combination of deep technical skills, business acumen, and strong interpersonal skillsLet us help you accelerate your career as we grow our team and transform our business!The work arrangement for this position is based on location.What Will You Do?Perform high-level conceptual business/data modeling including entities, entity-relationship, and key attributes)Participate in research, evaluation, and proofs of concept for new tools and technologies that impact information architectureDevelop data architectures and solutions using various cloud database technologiesCreate and maintain documentation for information architecture current and future statesAssist with developing of application programming interfaces (APIs) and message/event payloadsAssist in the development and maintenance of data principles, standards and guidelines that define best practices in the information domain and guide data architecture and design decisionParticipate data model reviews both for project teams and for cross project data architecture review Assure that the data architecture and solutions are consistent with enterprise data strategies and standardsRecommend improvements to existing data designs and data flowsParticipate in data management governance board reviews when necessaryCollaborate with various teams within the organization to devise and advance Enterprise Data StrategyFacilitate data modeling design sessions with various stakeholders and partners Ability to support multiple concurrent assignmentsWhat Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor’s in technology related field or equivalent with 4+ years of technology Engineering experiencePassionate about data and contribute to data driven culture and better Enterprise/Claim’s information architecture practiceExperience in relational (3rd norm form) and NoSQL (JSON Schema) data modeling, GraphDB data modeling a plusExperience using (Erwin, Hackolade, or any other data modeling tool) for data modelingExperience with ETL tools such as Informatica, AbInitio, Talend or SSIS (desired)Experience with Ad-hoc query toolsExperience in Data Modeling, Governance and Data ManagementFamiliarity with data security, storage solutions, database virtualization and replicationUnderstanding of data security frameworks, data quality frameworks, metadata management & data catalogs and data governance frameworksExperience modernizing data technology and information architecture on cloud Understanding fit for purpose of different data storages including transactional, analytical, event store, in-memory DBUnderstanding of P&C Insurance industry models (ACORD or OMG) Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) is a plusOrganizational experience in an agile operating modelInsurance technology experience desiredStrong grasp of value creation and business capability modelsInnovation and Continuous ImprovementWhat is a Must Have?Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.Five years of experience in engineering software or analytic applications within a line of business areaWhat Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members – including spouses, domestic partners, and children – are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
