The Sr. Billing Operations Associate serves as a subject matter expert in claim denials, payment posting, and remittance reconciliation within the healthcare sector. This role involves analyzing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice (RAs) to identify root causes of payment discrepancies, managing denied claims, and ensuring accurate resubmission of claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze EOBs and RAs to identify denial causes.
- Manage the posting of complex payments to patient accounts.
- Conduct investigations on denied claims and prepare documentation for appeals.
- Follow up on outstanding denials and underpayments.
- Mentor junior team members and support queue management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing.
- Proven expertise in EOBs and ERAs interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in navigating payer portals and billing software.
