Salary: $65,000-$95,000/year, based on experience


*Junior: $65K-$75K/Mid-Level: $75K-$85K/Lead: $85K-$95K


Schedule: Full-time, 5 days/week, including weekdays and weekends


Shifts: 4:00 AM-1:00 PM / 12:00 PM-9:00 PM

About the Role


A Japanese company is hiring full-time Pastry Chefs to join the opening team of a new café and bakery in Brooklyn.


You will create signature pastries, cakes, and baked goods-from recipe development and production to final presentation -helping shape the visual identity and quality of the brand.


The concept draws inspiration from Japanese food culture, fermentation, and health-conscious ingredients . Interest in Japanese food or culture is a plus, but Japanese language skills are not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and standardize recipes for pastries, cakes, and baked goods
• Prepare creams, mousses, ganache, and other pastry components
• Manage temperature and humidity for chocolate tempering, refrigeration, freezing, and fermentation
• Finish and decorate products using classic and modern pastry techniques
• Support seasonal and limited-edition menu development
• Maintain consistent standards for appearance, flavor, and freshness
• Assist with food cost control and waste reduction
• Follow sanitation, food safety, and allergen procedures

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of professional pastry experience preferred
• Strong skills in recipe development, temperature control, and plating
• Experience with French pastry techniques is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
• Creative, curious, and able to translate a concept into high-quality products
• Ability to work early-morning and/or afternoon shifts, including weekends
