Executive Vice President and President - Behavioral Health Division

Responsibilities UHS is the largest facility-based behavioral health provider in the United States. The Behavioral Health Division offers a national platform that includes inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth services. The president will drive strategy, operations, and profitable growth for the $7.6 billion behavioral health services business. Specific responsibilities will include: P&L responsibility for the management, overall strategy, capital expenditures and oversight of the Behavioral Health business, including collaborating and interacting with all levels of management across UHS. Ensure key results and strategic objectives are achieved consistently; implement robust processes to plan and execute priorities and mitigate risks; delegate, hold others accountable and drive to closure. Successfully integrate Talkspace into the UHS Behavioral Health Division. Set the future direction for the Division and lead the company into the next phase of growth, capitalizing on UHS’s financial standing, scale and market positioning. Drive a culture of clinical and quality excellence across the Division. Provide operational and financial leadership through short‑term and long‑term tactical and strategic plans to achieve business goals. Develop and deliver on the execution of the operational business plan and budget. Drive growth strategy, considering market, regulatory and competitive dynamics; identify and pursue acquisitions. Actively monitor and enhance the organizational structure and leadership team for best‑in‑class performance. Improve capabilities at all levels through assessment, development of existing people and recruitment of new talent; proactively address succession planning. Leverage current infrastructure and develop a thoughtful plan for evolving infrastructure and organizational chart to ensure scalability. Develop and foster strong relationships with physicians and clinical leadership; create a culture that is highly appealing to clinicians. Partner internally with Corporate Functions that provide core services (Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, Supply Chain, Risk). Work with pay‑ers, external partners, clinicians and consumers to evangelize the company and support business development activities. Build strong and collaborative relationships with the CEO, Board and senior leadership team. Present to the UHS Board of Directors on the performance and strategy of the Behavioral Health Division. Key Relationships Reports To: Marc Miller, President & CEO Direct Reports: Division Senior Vice Presidents (4 by geography), Senior Vice President, Finance; Senior Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer; Senior Vice President, Chief Growth Officer; Senior Vice President, Payer Strategies; VP, Chief Medical Officer; VP, Quality and Physician Alignment; VP, Support Service Operations; AVP Corporate Development. Internal Relates To: Executive Vice President and President, Acute Care; Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; Senior Vice President, Human Resources; Senior Vice President, General Counsel; Senior Vice President, Strategic Services. External Relates To: Strategic Partners, pay‑ers, joint‑venture partners, CMS, state regulators, community leaders, industry organizations. Qualifications The president will be an experienced healthcare executive with a proven track record of leading and growing a multi‑billion‑dollar business. The candidate will have held senior titles such as CEO, COO or Division President in a successful for‑profit organization and will possess a bachelor’s degree and preferably a master’s degree in business, health‑care administration or a related field. Demonstrated ability to engage and lead large clinical teams across a national platform. Experience presenting to a Board of Directors.
