The University of North Carolina Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting an open‑rank (tenure‑track or variable track) Maternal‑Fetal Medicine Critical Care faculty physician. This is a unique opportunity to serve as the clinical and academic leader of Critical CareMFMatUNC. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient care to high‑risk obstetric patients, including those requiring intensive care management. Provide consultative and co‑management critical care services for pregnant and postpartum patients. Lead the development and implementation of evidence‑based critical care protocols for obstetric patients. Build and direct a jointMFM‑Critical Care fellowship program in collaboration with relevant departments. Develop and expand tele‑critical care (e‑ICU) capacity to extend critical care expertise to obstetric patients acrossUNCHealth's regional network. Education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and active participation in the division's research mission. Loan forgiveness: Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)-eligible employer Requirements & Qualifications MD or DO required Board Certified/Board Eligible/Active Candidate in OB‑GYN and Maternal‑Fetal Medicine required, BE/BC in Critical Care preferred. Completion of both a 4‑year ACGME‑approved OB‑GYN residency and a 3‑year ABOG‑approved fellowship in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine. Critical Care Fellowship or equivalent clinical experience in critical care medicine. Demonstrated competence in maternal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, and the management of critically ill obstetric patients.
