Position: Line Cook

Papamigos is seeking a motivated, hardworking, and team-oriented Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, maintain a sense of urgency, and understand that success in the kitchen comes from teamwork, communication, and personal initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up, stock, and maintain assigned cooking stations before, during, and after service.
• Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area at all times.
• Assist with food prep, inventory rotation, stocking, and cleaning duties as needed.
• Work closely with fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management during service.

Teamwork & Initiative Requirements

Teamwork is not optional—it is a core requirement of this position.

Successful candidates must:

• Be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision or direction.
• Stay consistently busy throughout their shift and proactively look for tasks that need to be completed.
• Take initiative by identifying problems and solving them before being asked.
• Actively look for ways to assist teammates when their own station is caught up.
• Jump in wherever needed to support the kitchen and restaurant as a whole.
• Maintain a positive attitude, especially during busy periods.
• Understand that "that's not my job" is not part of our culture.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
