Front End Lead Software Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 5 years of applied experience.
• At least 8 years delivering technology solutions, including web development with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Jenkins or a comparable CI/CD tool.
• Strong, hands-on expertise with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including single-page application development and performance optimization.
• Experience with software design patterns and paradigms, including object-oriented and functional programming, and RESTful API design.
• Recent experience building production AI-powered applications, including multi-agent orchestration, streaming architectures, security guardrails, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and LLM observability and resilience.
• Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools and setting standards to validate their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resilience, security, and coaching engineers on compliant adoption.
• Strong understanding of agile practices, CI/CD, application resilience, and security.
• Experience with unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Jest, Playwright, React Testing Library, or Selenium.
• Experience with secure coding, including input validation, authentication patterns, and OWASP guidelines.
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks and SDKs, such as OpenAI Agents SDK, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, or LangGraph; multi-agent workflows; SSE or WebSocket streaming; prompt-injection defenses and tool-level guardrails; RAG techniques; and observability and resilience practices.
• Preferred: Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Heroku, GKP/EKS, AWS EC2, ECS, S3, and Athena.
• Preferred: Experience with relational databases, GraphQL, and web service integrations.
• Preferred: Experience with server-side rendering and static site generation, ideally with Next.js.
• Preferred: Practice with test-driven or business-driven development and continuous integration and delivery.
• Preferred: Strong functional JavaScript skills, preferably with Node.js, and experience using Python for backend or AI scripting.
• Preferred: Experience with behavioral analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics or Amplitude, and experimentation tools such as Split.io.

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, addressing complex technical challenges beyond routine approaches.
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Lead the teams adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and encourage reuse of effective approaches.
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to automate or eliminate remediation, improving application and system stability.
• Develop with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and conduct end-to-end testing with tools such as Jest, Playwright, React Testing Library, or Selenium.
• Collaborate on creating and using open, standards-based solutions alongside existing enterprise technologies and infrastructure.
• Follow architecture standards, risk management practices, and security policies.
• Ensure product quality and completeness through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Lead, mentor, and guide developers through code reviews and technical direction, fostering engineering excellence while also delivering independently and supporting platforms across digital product areas.
