As a Mammography Technologist, you'll perform diagnostic mammography procedures using advanced imaging technologies, including digital mammography and tomosynthesis. You'll be a vital part of our breast health team, ensuring patients feel informed, supported, and safe throughout their imaging experience.This role combines technical expertise with interpersonal sensitivity, helping patients navigate a potentially stressful moment with confidence and dignity. You'll contribute to quality assurance, maintain equipment and exam rooms, and serve as a resource to fellow technologists—all while upholding Meritus Health's mission to improve the health of our community.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform radiographic mammography procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocolsOperate and maintain digital mammography and tomosynthesis equipment with competence and carePrepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and ensure cleanliness and readinessObtain and document clinical information from patients accurately and respectfullyPrepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as neededObserve patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediatelyRecord pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reportsServe as a resource to peers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and quality improvementUphold Meritus Health's values of compassion, excellence, integrity, and collaboration in every interactionMinimum QualificationsCompletion of an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent requiredMinimum of 18 months experience as a Radiologic Technologist requiredARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography requiredState of Maryland licensure as a Radiologic Technologist requiredCurrent BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policyKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficiency in mammographic imaging techniques and equipment operationUnderstanding of breast anatomy and positioning for diagnostic clarityAbility to communicate effectively and compassionately with patientsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage a complex, fast-paced clinical environmentCommitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvementAt Meritus, we believe in a collaborative and caring work environment.
