Lab Technical Coordinator (Core Lab)

Position Title Full‑Time Lab Technical Coordinator – Core Lab, Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC). Position Details Day Shift: Monday thru Friday (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM). No Weekends & No Holidays. Coordinate daily workflow in the Core Lab with an emphasis on hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and Cancer Center – answer questions and provide support as needed. Assist with Regulatory Compliance – ensure maintenance logs are signed off, daily, weekly, monthly PM and QC tasks are completed, QC review. Assist with new lot conversions in coagulation, build and maintain new lots of QC in the LIS. Assist with long‑term projects such as instrument validations and process improvements. MT/MLS (ASCP) Certified. Experience At least 2 years of generalist hospital lab experience (preferred). Experience in participation in departmental projects, committees, or process improvement events. Skills – comfortable with Microsoft, good communication skills, critical thinking/problem solving skills. If you have experience in one of the following areas, you could be a good fit: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) and Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field. MT/MLS – ASCP or equivalent certification. 2 years of more experience. Responsibilities Assesses workload, prioritizes work, makes staffing adjustments and assists staff when needed. Coordinates reviews schedules with supervisors and coordinators to ensure adequate staffing for shift. Ensures maintenance of laboratory services and quality in accordance with prescribed standards and policies of the system, government and other accreditation agencies. Takes responsibility for the daily operations, both technically and administratively, for the shift to ensure quality services. Coordinates with all lab supervisors and frontline staff to ensure laboratory goals are met to improve quality service and reduce costs. Develops appropriate QA monitors with supervisor and implements processes for shift to ensure quality. Evaluates data, identifies problems, and recommends solutions. Teaches and/or trains new and established staff members and Clinical Laboratory Scientist students in routine and specialized techniques used in the laboratory. Participates in competency assessment of staff. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical/Life Science/related field. Experience: 2–5 years. Supervisor Experience: No experience. Licenses & Certifications: MT/MLS – ASCP or equivalent. Preferred Requirements Experience: 5–10 years. Supervisor Experience: Licenses & Certifications: Cert/Lic in Area of Expertise.
