Human Resources Generalist

Human Resources ManagerResponsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and professional development to attract and retain top employee talent. Supports and contributes to the achievement of departmental objectives by proactively addressing College staffing needs, human resource issues, interpreting policies and procedures, and various projects. Responsible for managing the institution's benefits programs and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in higher education. The role focuses on administering employee benefits, overseeing payroll processes, and maintaining HR information systems. This position is critical in safeguarding the institution's legal and ethical standing while supporting employee well-being through comprehensive benefits management. Maintains a Blackboard Ultra Professional Development Course to track employee participation in College-sponsored professional development.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:Administer and optimize employee benefits programs.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Oversee payroll processes and systems.Manage HR information systems and maintain accurate employee records.Develop and implement HR procedures.Monitor and report on HR metrics and analytics.Coordinate culture, health, and safety initiatives.Core Duties:Partner with hiring managers to meet talent needs by managing the entire hiring process.Process onboarding/employment-related paperworkSchedule or conduct new employee orientationsConduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completedProcess employee (faculty, staff, and adjunct) appointments in the J1 systemServes as initial point of contact for matters related to employee relationsAddress employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concernsProvide timely processing of inquiries and complaints while ensuring correct interpretation and application of Human Resources policy.
